The Sturgeon Point Light House was built in 1869 and is still operational. The grounds hold examples of boats, rudders and Lake Huron equipment. The gift shop has many unique items. There is excellent rock and shell hunting along the shore.

The Harrisville State Park also lies just south of town and offers camping and swimming on Lake Huron. Harbor Park is also located right in town, just to the north of Main Street, and is a good place for a picnic, sightseeing the marina, or listening to the rapids at the mouth of Mill Creek flowing into the harbor.
